One glass. Deep ruby flashing, thumbprint ovals, the zigzag of the King's Crown. This is the original — Adams, circa 1890 — and the color alone sets it apart.
This is a single antique cordial glass in the King's Crown pattern (also known as Thumbprint) by Adams Glass Co., ruby-flashed — believed to be the original "X.L.C.R." variant introduced by Adams in 1890–1891. The ruby here is notably deeper and more saturated than later reproductions, without the gold iridescence of subsequent versions. Three mold marks and slightly flared sides are consistent with the original Adams production. One piece available.
King's Crown became one of the most copied patterns in American pressed glass — reproduced by Indiana Glass, Tiffin, and others well into the 20th century. This is not a reproduction. If provenance matters to you, the depth of the ruby and the mold marks are your tell. We are confident in the attribution but encourage collectors to review the photos carefully and reach out with questions.
Wear on the ruby flashing along the rim and in small areas — expected and acceptable for a piece of this age. An unusual dark shadow is visible in the ruby flashing — difficult to photograph but disclosed and priced accordingly. No chips or cracks.
